Coaching...Free?

posted by admin on Mon 20 of Oct, 2008 [04:53 UTC]
By now, most of you have seen a few of the many offers of "Personal Coaching" classes, websites, and ebooks...running the full gamut from $19.95 one-time to a monthly $99.95...Nearly all with a common thread: Some self-proclaimed overnight-guru wants to explain his marketing fluke for a fee, to as many suckers as possible before his ruse is discovered.

Pop Stran, the owner of this network, started marketing on the Web before it was even a household word...Online from the start, he saw the birth of AOL as the fuse that would blow the Internet apart.
*(Unlike 96% of his counterparts, he's still here...)

AOL killed Compuserve's $2.99/minute monopoly with their Visa-marketing method of putting a free disk in the hands of every household in America, and eventually gave birth to the term "Web surfing" when they advanced to "unlimited access" accounts.

AOL also provided the medium for Pop's first affiliate venture: Online dating services.
Pop's One2one Dating sites marketed primarily on AOL's hottest feature: the chat rooms.
(Pop is also one of the original reasons that chatroom ads were controlled and eventually banned)
Later promotion included the new PPC sites, but AOL still provided more than half of new signups.

One2one was parted out and sold to separate investors in 1997, and a few are still in operation today...The details of the sale are private, but the total sale-price made the NetNews? channels at the time.

In 1998, Pop began coaching new home-business hopefuls through a monthly newsletter called the Coach Report which is still in operation today.

Having acquired an extensive personal database of free marketing tools, wholesale sources, promotion techniques, and proven secrets, the Grandfather of Affiliate Marketing decided to share a few pieces of his collection each month with new startups in the form of a newsletter.

Using a non-intrusive, zero-pressure, free advice approach, the Coach Report has acquired a loyal membership of readers who appreciate (love?) the "I don't want your money" concept of voluntary web-coaching that Pop created with this monthly newsletter.
No "solo ads", no sales pushes, no "Special issue-You gotta buy this!" surprises.

Each issue also included (and still does) a new download to a free e-book title as a members-only bonus...For 10 years, ebooks remained Pop's best-selling product line.
His library contains over 6,000 titles...and many are still producing steady profits today!
